Basil Hogios,
composer
Basil has composed music for many film & theatre projects. Films featuring
his work have been screened in major international film festivals &
television screenings. His orchestral score for SUB- was nominated for an
APRA/AGSC award for Best Score for a Short Film, heard at the Sydney Film
festival, and won the prestigious Directors’ Choice Gold Medal at the Park
City Film Music Festival. A graduate of the AFTRS Screen Composing course,
he has scored music for short films, documentaries, and advertising.
Basil received the 2005 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Score, for the
critically acclaimed Three Furies (Scenes From The Life Of Francis Bacon).
He has worked with major Australian theatre companies, including Don’s Party
(Melbourne Theatre Company), The Tempest (Bell Shakespeare), Holding The
Man, Mr Bailey’s Minder and Burning (Griffin), Ray’s Tempest and What The
Butler Saw (Company B). He has also performed and conducted in theatre
shows, films, and concerts.
